Select League Rules

Spring & Fall Seasons

  • Age Group Information

    • Format: 7v7 & 9v9
    • 2nd and 3rd grade will play 7v7
    • 4th and 5th grade will play 9v9
    • Ball Size: 4
    • Length of Match: 2 x 25-minute halves
    • All matches are considered Final if at least
    • one half is completed
    • Halftime: 5 minutes
    • 7v7 Field Dimensions: 65’ x 45’
    • 9v9 Field Dimensions: 75’ x 52’

     

  • Equipment

    • All players must have a Select League jersey
    • Shin guards are mandatory for all players
    • All jewelry, piercings, or accessories must be removed
    • Eyeglasses, sweatbands, or forms of hair ties may be worn
    • Hard casts must be covered and deemed safe by league personnel
    • Home team will wear the light kit and away team will wear the dark kit
    • Goal keepers must be in a different color form the home and away teams

  • Substitutions

    • Substitutions are unlimited at the discretion of the referee on any dead ball
    • Substitutions must be at the centerline ready to enter to be waived on
    • The referee can choose not to allow the substitution if they believe it will disrupt the flow of the match, is being used as a time-wasting tactic, or is not being used properly for the spirit of the match.

  • Fouls

    • IFAB Laws of the Game
    • Players must retreat 8 yards from any dead ball situation.
    • League personnel are the final say in any debate on Rules or Laws.

  • Delays/Forfeits

    • After 10 minutes, it is deemed a forfeit if a team is unable to start the match.

  • Point System

    • 3 points for a win
    • 1 point for a tie
    • 0 points for a loss
